From the Big Green Egg DVD (the DVD you get with each BGE purchase)

This classic dessert is delicious cooked on the EGG™. Although elegant enough to really impress family and friends, it is deceptively easy to prepare.

  •  6 Ripe Bananas
  • 1 Stick of butter (1/2 cup)
  • 3/4 Cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 Cup orange juice
  • 1/4  Cup rum (or any orange liqueur)
  • Vanilla ice cream (to serve 6)

Peel bananas; slice lengthwise, then in half across.  Place in baking pan. Cut butter into 8 pieces and distribute evenly over bananas.  Sprinkle brown sugar over bananas and butter.  Pour rum and orange juice over mixture.

Heat Big Green Egg to 600°F.  Place baking pan on cooking grid; close lid.  Bake for 5 minutes or until butter melts and bananas are bubbling in a “sauce.”

Remove from grill.  Scoop vanilla ice cream into bowls and top with the Bananas Foster.  Makes 6 servings.
